The Situation in Cuba

The situation in Cuba is exactly why you can't have a military/dictatorial communism. The intentions of Castro and Che Guevara were for the good of the people. Take the country back from the U.S. owned Cuban President (I forget his name, and why should anyone want to remember it) and give the government and the country back to the people. That former Cuban president was letting America run unfair business practices and stealing Cuban natural resources in the form of Sugar (and other crops but I forget which). Sure the rich people going along with the U.S. got their palaces and fancy cars, but the majority of the working and lower class were left to starve and go without the basic rights of human beings. And that's the truth about the Cuban revolution, no matter what kind of American propaganda spin is put to it. Of course America is going to bitch and lie, they just lost a major exploitation job and country in the form of Cuba, and committed terrorist and evil acts to try to get their cash-cow back. But I digress.

Now that Castro is on the way out, there is inevitably going to be a power struggle for the leadership of the country. If Cubans were allowed to educate and defend themselves, and let themselves pick and hold their politicians accountable, then things might not be this bad. Ultimately, I believe that Cubans are educated enough in knowing the dangers of capitalism and to hold on to their country the way it is. Keep the rights with the people and set up laws that keep the power to the middle and lower class and not give it up to the elite ruling class.

I hope with all of my being that Cubans can hold on, and maybe in the near future be able to arm and protect themselves as militant citizens. No longer needing a military dictatorship because a select few of people can be corrupted and bought out by rich countries like America. I hope the Cuban people are given that chance, and not to much chaos and war will affect that country. That is my hope for my Cuban brothers.
